Had anyone ever used melafix and had a negative reaction with the fish in their tank?

I've used it a few times when I didn't have my normal medications on hand. I did have a Koran angel die that was swimming around just fine the day before and eating and after adding melafix it died. But most fish survive and whether or not the death was from the melafix I'm not too sure

Melafix also just isn't really a good medication. I believe it is only effective against some gram positive bacteria

It’s not a medication it’s a concoction of essential oils etc that is potentially effective To treat some milder conditions. What are you trying to treat?

Never used it but given its ingredients I would watch for oxygen depletion.

I think it may have been oxygen depletion as the fish are okay after adding a second airstone. I have a rabbitfish you developed fin rot duri g copper treatment and just moved all the fish to a clean QT tank. Wanted to see if the melafix can cure the fin rot before bringing out the heavy antibiotics. The fish was given kanaplex and furan with the copper but really had little impact on the finrot which I am assuming was related to the copper exposure. I have NFG on hand but trying to hold off for the time being.

Not w fish....but I believe either it or Metroplex killed by rose BTA
I think the Metroplex would be a more likely culprit. That said, Melafix is really just a botanical extract, an antiseptic, not a true antibiotic. It isn’t listed in any of my references, so I won’t use it.
