Just wanted to throw a question out there of anyone who uses this to clean their glass? I hear great things about its ability to clean glass, acrylic, and even safe enough on the silicone.

The comments I have seen have always been on other threads and not specifically on the top of the foam so I wanted to get a general opinion if its reef safe and if anyone has traced back an issue to using this on their tank regularly.

Yup, as long as it is the original one without detergents or scents, it is reef safe. Good reading toward the bottom of this.

Thank you! I've been surfing the googles and the best commentary I found was on the other "community which shall not be named" reef forum and even had a chemical engineer who worked for P&G stating he uses it in his tank. Now to be fair, this could have been anyone making an absurd claim... That being said there were a lot of positive reviews of people using this product for years with no noticeable ill effects.

Based on the article it looks like the extra power ones are still reef safe as well for anyone who is working on a hard deposit on an old tank.
That could be, by original I was referring to being unscented or soaped. I wasn't even aware there were extra power ones.

Basic non soap kind are fine to use. This question has been asked for years now every few days.:)

Old thread, new question. I been using these in my tank to clean for the past year. Love them. I noticed the new packaging says "Original" and also says "2x stronger with Durafoam" I can't seem to find what this "Durafoam" is. Anyone?

I have not seen the new labeling. I would hope its just a different design/structure not anything chemically different.

I moved on to a flipper for scraping and it works perfectly.

Use the older original version occasionally and have never suffered any ill effects.

I have been using the Durafoam ones for several months now....can't even find the original ones.....have not had any issues.

I’m thinking that is just the makeup of the sponge or the denseness or something along those lines. I hope nothing new. I have been using them inside my tank for awhile and love them. Just stopped me for a second ordering seeing something new to the originals.
