Melanarus wrasse in QT not doing good

I also wonder: wrasse like to slide under the sand, the sandbox may not be large enough, and maybe it bumped its snout once and now says “Nope!”

It typically doesn't take a whole lot of sand; just enough to cover themselves. They're accustomed to running into rocks/shells/etc in the sand in their wild environment.

Im using copper power since i find its easier on wrasses.

My experience is the opposite. Chelated coppers tend to give rise to less issue than ionic coppers with wrasses.

I'd remove the copper at this point as well.

No, I am in agreement with your experience!

For the record:
cupramine = ionic
Copper safe and copper power = chelated

ok update the wrasse still hasnt eaten anything and seems to be yawning alot and stays on the bottom. Is prazipro recommended just incase its flukes? @evolved

Yes, prazi is something I always do.

Prazi supposedly does have that effect, but I've never had a wrasse stop eating on account of it being present.
The counterpoint in your situation here, is that you don't necessarily have much to loose. If it's flukes, the prazi will clear it up. Else, it's not going to cause the fish to stop eating when it already isn't.

I know this is a bit old but i havent been able go add him to my DT yet since he is always on the sand, im surprised he is alive after such a long time of just snatching a piece of food and then panics to get back to the sand. I dont know if i should add him to the DT since i cant inspect him to see if he is good. I did the copper treatment months ago aswell as prAzi but he just always looks stressed. What do you guys recommend? The couple of times that ive seen him he doesnt look skinny but he sure looks stressed all the time. I never had issues with even leopard wrasses but this guy is something else.
