Does anyone know where this came from before Ktar. Who did he get the colony from? Was it the same guy that the My Miami colony came from? I have reasons for asking, but nothing that important. Just curious i guess.

I have no idea, just wondered. I was thinking it came from the same source that WWC got the My Miami. DON'T QUOTE ME ON THAT! I'M JUST ASKING, NOT STARTING RUMORS.

I thought is came from Clint at DITR or ebay. Hopefully it will come to me eventually.

I guess i am asking Ktar. I just didn't do it in a PM... maybe i should have as this might stir some people up. Oh well, nothing wrong with a little hype on the melting pot!! :D

The reason i ask it this

I just bought a colony that i recieved today from a guy in New York. When i bought it the pic looked like something special but the pic was taken in really bad lighting so i just had to suck it up. I received it today and it is with exception to the Melting Pot and the Topic Acid, 1 of the most amazing chalices i've ever seen. The guy i bought it from says that he got in from a long time ago and he got it locally. When i asked where he got it he said from a guy that is not in the hobby anymore.

I'm guessing 1 of 3 things here.

1. This is a piece off the original colony of the Melting Pot chalice.
2. This is not from the original colony, but is the exact same species, sub species, sub sub species, etc.. with the same coloration just not as large as the original colony.
3. Although he seems genuine in saying that he has had it a long time, this is a new import and it just happens to be extremly similar.

Didn't realize exactly what i was buying except that it had a lot of potential. Now that i have it i'm hell bent on finding out where it came from cause of its beauty!

OK NOW wheres the pic

LOL, my lights run at night so they won't come on for another two hours. Trust me i want to post one! It isn't for sale as of now so don't take this as hyping up a coral. I just want to know some facts here. I doubt i'll get any but its worth a shot.

was it the My miami that sold for like $1500 on ebay? if so thats the one from Jason Fox a local here

I believe that I remember reading that it came from a LFS that his buddy owned. The LFS would not frag it but Ktar kept asking and eventually bought the entire colony. Now I could have just pulled that from my rear but that sounds right for some reason to me.
