With some of them having a hard time keeping up with current demand, a sale may not be warranted.
Also, with many of them going with just a flat % off, it really doesn't do a lot of good for many since so many things have gone to MAP pricing and they are never included.

what is MAP pricing?
I have a back log of equipment i need to buy, lights, and fish/coral quarantine supplies really.
Fish/stock wise, i like to shop those locally, there is something about seeing the fish first that makes me more at ease.

MAP stands for Minimum Advertised Price. Basically some manufacturers only allow a seller to carry their products if they agree not to Advertise below a certain price. If they do, the manufacturer can pull all their products from that seller. That is why a lot of the equipment you see is the same price at all stores. That is why on all these sales you will see "* excludes MAP items". Unfortunately over the last few years a ton of aquarium items have moved to MAP pricing including smaller items such as additives. You will notice everyone sells a lot of the additives from say Red Sea at the same price. You will only see sales on MAP items if it is something the manufacturer is pushing and usually all the retailers participate. Sometimes one or 2 retailers may get an exclusive deal to advertise but it seems rare. Usually the only time a lot of MAP items go on sale is black friday/cyber monday. Some also do it around a big show such as MACNA. Also, you will see it when a new product drops such as the recent Radions. All the retailers dropped their price on the old model at the same time because Ecotech sent them all notices with the new model prices and on what date they could drop the price on the old model.
The only way I've seen to get around MAP pricing is when Ebay would run their % off sales or % cash back rewards sale. Unfortunately Ebay got a new CEO and teh sales have dried up.
