They have some cheaper ones. I was also thinking if you plan to use ocean water then it would be a good idea to help sanitize the water and kill ant parasites or nuisances.

I only plan on using products from the ocean for the nitrogen cycle and biofilm development phase. After that I would only use mixed salt

The idea here is to advance the biome function, while having fish and quarantine. That way when they go in the main display any possible parasites have already expired. And then start doing regular water changes with mixed salt

As far as I can see the main benefit from starting with beach sand for example is to accelerate the biome capability in the tank. After the nitrogen cycle is complete and the biome is functional, then I feel it would be safe to add fish that were already in quarantine and treated.

My ultimate goal, would be to eliminate the parasites. Not to learn how to live with them.

Be warned it’s much harder than you think. You can do everything “perfectly” but they can still make it through. Ich eradication is difficult.

I do understand that this is a very tedious task which also incurs monetary adventures. That's why I have considered pre-treated fish.

I think the decision varies as dependent on the size of the system. And the amount of fish or type of fish which are desired. In my case if I keep five fish it might be worthwhile to pay the extra buck for the pre-treated fish. This is the thought process I'm going through.

And this theory of mine could be very debatable. For example you have 50 fish instead of five. Now how much do you have to lose if you choose to be risky?

I don't even want to take a chance on losing $500 worth of fish. Just imagine if that was like $5,000 worth of fish.. if I lost $5,000 worth of fish I would probably sell my tank and never even tell you about it.
