Just purchased a 5 stage RO/DI Unit for an upcoming build. Curious if anyone knows the average TDS of water coming out of the faucet here in Mesa. Im figuring Ill need to change filters more often with how hard our water is

Likely around 2-500 depending on the time of year (above ground vs below ground{higher} source).

City of Mesa has an 2018 report online:

They don't report TDS but do show hardness and some dissolved minerals.

Municipalities blend with CAP water which is poorer quality than Salt River and groundwater. At peak summer consumption, most of the water comes from CAP. The McDowell sampling station shows TDS running at 600mg/l.

I checked it last month, and it was in the 230s. But it can change throughout the year.

Think I'll be able to get 0 TDS with a 5 stage/booster pump?
Absolutley. We’ve got a 5 state spectrapure and it gets us to zero pretty easily. We don’t have the booster pump, but we have about a 1:4 ratio of good water versus waste.

Crazy. I'll let you know I just set up a 6 stage rodi today breaking it in now.
Prior to I didnt really pay much attention to tdd. Last reading was 118.
I've been more concerned with Alk.
That being said I was mixing my salt to simple 3 stage system and ending up with 14-15 alK on fresh ro saltwater mix.
Interesting
What's your alk coming out of faucet?

i’ve put literally thousand of gallons through my current, 5 years old spectrapure 99% membrane. i’ve been using their enduro di and mega maxcap for a while now as well. i’m in tempe/mesa, although moving to maricopa tomorrow.

the tds does fluctuate quite a bit here but since you’re using spectrapure, it won’t be a concern overall.
