Is it a pain to have to operate around a net: putting in NORI, self dosing, feeding etc... ? How do you guys make it work?

Dosing and feeding pellets is not a problem, you can simply add that through the net. I would dose into the sump in any case. Feeding frozen means either lifting the net or having a feeding slot. Ditto for Nori. I have Clearview lids on my 3’ and 5’ tanks. The 5’ has a feeding hole in the front making it easy to manage frozen and nori. The 3’ is small enough to be able to lift up easily to feed. I have made myself a couple of painted ply brackets to hold the lid up at the front when I am cleaning, adding fish and corals etc. They just sit on the front glass and hold the lid sufficiently high to gain access.
