Mesh top suggestions for biocube 29

Hi guys!
So I really want to take the top off of my biocube to put a better light over it. My concern is that my clowns do get a little skittish and jumpy when they have eggs. Don't want to come home to find a crispy critter on the rug... Looked at the bulk reef supply mesh, but the curved front of the biocube is a problem. Tried the Google, but there just don't seem to be any good answers out there. Does anyone here have any suggestions?

I,just use egg crate you can cut to you specific need

I wouldn't do the screen on a biocube. It will look bad with that front curve. Trust me I tried. What I did was cut a piece of plexiglass that fit over the exact dimensions. Yes I have to clean it every couple days, but it's worth the time cause it gives a clean look to everything.

I was actually thinking the exact same thing! Do you feel like you have any issues with oxygenation or excess heat? Where did you pick up the plexi? Thanks!

I don't have any issues with heat it anything in the tank and the water flow through the back chambers keep the tank oxygenated. The one problem I do have is that the light causes the plexiglass to bend, so every couple days you go to flip the plexi so it bends back down. You could pick up some plexi at any local hardware store.

I know this thread is old, but why not use Plexi/Acrilic to make a frame for the meeting/screen material? If you're crafty enough with a 1/4HP router or have a router table, you could use it to cut the groove for the screen spline and then you'd have a more pro looking top. I've even seen people use 2 x 1/8"thick pieces for the frame and sandwich netting between them.
