So how my canopy is i have two options of putting a mesh top on and I want some thoughts from everyone.

Option 1: Normal top that covers the top of the tank and overflow

Option 2: I have an acrylic cover for the overflow and the mesh net goes on the back part of the canopy so nothing jumps out the back, it will hit net and fall back into the display.

Personally I like option 2 but I would like to see what everyone thinks...

Either option works, but as my overflow has a separate polymer cover I'd probably opt for Option #2. It means you need to build a few jogs and zigzags into your mesh lid, but nothing insurmountable.

If option #1 is referring to a glass/acrylic top/lid, then I vote for this. Having used mesh top for several years, I find it pain to keep the mesh clean plus glass top will help reduce evaporation (I'm in NE so winter months are very dry) during cold dry months.

same.

i currently have a mesh lid over my 40B. so ugly to look at when salt creep happens.

Both options are for a mesh lid, since i have a canopy i'm not worried about what it looks like inside the canopy.
