I messed up the times on my dosing with calcium... I was suppose to have calcium dose during the day and alk at night, is there any problems that might come up with dosing calcium 24hrs for one day? Like I set the time for dosing during the night for calc when its supposed to be during the day... alk hasnt been dosed yet. Or should I take calc offline and start again the next day?

Why do you break it up like that? I dose evenly alk and calcium throughout the day. An even amount 15 minutes apart...

I was just advised to do it that way as to not impact my ph during my ramp up :) also what doser are you running?

No problems with what you did. I think most of us dose continuously throughout the day (every 90 minutes for our setup but that was an arbitrary number I pulled out of my butt).

Okay :) then what should I do? Because right now I'm ramping up my parameters before getting to a number for daily dosing

I would dbl your alk dose to compensate.
I have a bubble magus doser now but did by hand for a looong time.

It looks like the Red Sea product increases the pH slightly and I'm assuming you're trying to mitigate the diurnal pH swing by dosing it when the pH is naturally lower. I dont think there is any particularly good reason to do this from a coral health standpoint but if that is what you intend to do, simply change the dosing times to match up with your intended plan. If the tank is young, you probably wont need to dose for the first three to six months; keep a log (i.e hand written journal, AquaticLog, etc.) of your parameters so you can track this (if you arent already) so you have a clear history.

They shoud dose evenly. If you think it is high, do a water change OR stop CA dosing for 48 hrs to allow it to drop from absorption from corals

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
