Messing around behind your wife's back

I clean my skimmer cup in the kitchen sink after my GF is asleep. Also I schedule deliveries to arrive on days she's at work

I am with you on the deliveries mine gets so mad and even madder when she finds out how much i spent lol

Am I the only wife who washes the sock filters?! lol. I WISH he would sneak around and wash them! I always have to do the dirty work and a washing machine is a lot easier than sitting outside with the hose and bleach! Heck, my dad brings over his sock filters so I can wash them for him. His water does something funny to them and they end up with a white dust in them if he washes them. He thought that was normal until I saw it one day and told him otherwise.

We're terrible here and we both, through rarely, buy corals without letting the other one know until after the fact. lol.

Mine has no clue where the washer and dryer is. Only frig,TV and guns. He could find those in the dark.

She knows who bought the washing machine... Enough said.

i guess i should feel lucky, mine doesn't get mad about the socks or skimmate, and as long as she can spend money too I can buy as much coral as I want. I am guilty of not telling her exactly how much money i spend....

My GF don't care, she's never said anything except, "that stinks!". lol

Since we're on the subject about washing filter socks, I'm sure everyone uses bleach to clean them... do you guys just let them air dry after the wash, or do you use some type of de-chlorinator?

I throw them in the washer after everyone else has gone to bed. In the morning they're nice and clean and nothing stinks. If she saw them pre-wash...

No bleach for me, just a plain water sanitary cycle (no soap, bleach, baking soda, etc.) works just fine.

LOL! :haha: This wife does the filter sock washing around here, LOL! I do take them out to the driveway and rinse them with the water hose before I put them in the washing machine though...

I stopped using filter socks after wifey got mad about me using her brand new washer for them...before that I was hand washing in the guest bathroom as we didnt have a washer...I always did that when she wasn't home :)

I'm the wife who would walk in on my husband doing something of the like & join him.

I've emptied skimmer cups in many a sink... >.>

Ive been busted many times by the wife after she finds the receipts from the LFS and vendors and also the crdit card bills :( now i buy a bank card when i drop my checks in the bank and she isnt the wiser :) i also dispose of the receipts of livestock and equipment receipts i put in my fish books. she will never look in there lol Ive also been busted using her tubberware and pots

When I was with my ex, I hid everything from her. She has a nose that could pick up on a mouses fart.

I've even been guilty of sneeking critters in in my lunch box....

Now I have a super cool fiance who supports me with everything in this hobby.

My wife doesn't mind the new additions, I just don't tell her how much I spend. I'm like yeah that flame wrasse was $35 shipped, she's says "wow that is to much to spend on a fish, just don't tell me how much you spend anymore." Occasionally she has to acclimate my stuff for me. I do maintenance on weekends when her and my son are taking naps. I don't use filter socks anymore, they were a PIA.

ROFL.. I used to collect full size video games from the 80s before I started this hobby.. I had a garage full at one point. If I was picking
up a game locally I would borrow the minivan and tell her I am going to home depot (this was 7-8 at night). When I got
back to the house the video game would be in the back.. I'd wait until after she went to bed and roll it in the garage. There
were so many in the garage that she couldn't tell I added anything new. And of course every game was a steal at $50... wink:)

I am the wife soooooo I will do what is the easiest!!! lol I love all the stories..keep'em coming!

The new Zoo colony came with the live rock, the kid at the fish store didn't see it growing on it(Ya right!)
