Metal Contaminant?

He everyone! I am 6 months into my first mixed reef tank. My parameters are steady and in the range of acceptable measurements, but my corals aren’t doing well. Here’s my question:

I began this reeding journey using Caribsea rock aqua scape that came as a kit which included a metal support rod… could it be that the metal support rod is not safe for the reef and is contaminating the water? Curious if anyone has experienced this.

I think it is unlikely that Caribsea chose something unsuitable, but one never knows.
