metal halide ballast

I'm looking for a ballast for a 250 watt single end radium, are they all the same? Last week, I changed the bulb and the ballast smells like it's burning, I immediately turned it off, but I'm guessing I'll need a new one.

You will need a pulse start, HQI, or electronc. Stay away from probe start m58 ballast

Hamilton has brought back the m80 ballast which is recommended for radium

I just got my M80 ballast from Hamilton Technology, I'll be running my radium by Thursday.

That will work just fine. It just won't have as much wattage as the m80 and the radium will burn cold making it more blue.

This will also allow you to use other mogul socket bulbs other than radium if you choose.
