Metal halide heat

My AC unit is having a hard time keeping up while my metal halide are on and is causing my chiller to not work as efficient as it should. Does any body else that has 400 watt metal halides experience this issue

i think its just because its been hot out. Mine was like that last year

Fill up some gallon jugs with water and freeze them. Then float them in your sump to help bring the heat down. When it's this hot out most people's A/C units will run 24/7....

I have 2x 250 watt halides and 3x 110 VHOs over my 75, and I have a chiller as well. I run my lights in the evening to help the chiller out, and I leave the front of the canopy off overnight to help dissipate the heat so the chiller doesn't have to work as hard.

fans will also help Luis. that said, before swapping to the LEDS, my chiller really worked hard to keep the tank cool. as you know my sump is in the garage and it gets pretty hot in there. Keep in mind, that a chiller will put heat back into the air as it cools the water.

Frozen 20 oz bottles will work fine also

I would seriously consider building a canopy to put fans in. All you would need is square bracing on the inside to set the reflectors on.

Yeah not much you can do about that. Except leds but I'll take the heat with my halides any day

Canopy and then run a drier vent out the wall pulling the air outside. Put a fan blowing out to pull the air out the Vent. And with a chiller in same Room just putting hot air back into the room sadly....
