Anyone out there have a metal stand? I'll be building one probably next weekend but I'm curious as to what thickness I should go for... I'm thinking 2x2 .065 will be thick enough for a 6'x2' frag tank The stand is currently going to be for a frag tank but in the near future I'd like to have a 160 rimless built... Anyone have any thoughts on the thickness? Not sure if I should go thicker or not

you'd be better off with hot rolled square tube 1.5" x 0.1875-wall thickness, as you're planning to upgrade the tank later.
gusset the four top and bottom corners and you should be fine, also miter the ends for stronger corners...

I don't have access to that size... The most I'm willing to do is 2x2 at .120 and that's over kill but I get it cheaper than .095 because they have a lot of it... I just wanted to know if I can get away with .65 because it's a fair bit cheaper... So could I get away with .065 with impeccable welds as well as gussets could I get away with .065? Or do I genuinely need to go .120

1/8=0.125
1/16=0.0625

I would go with 1/8".
