I was cleaning my Jebao RW wavemakers last night and I noticed some metallic dust clinging to the impellers (probably got grounded off the impellers over time). They do not appear rusted. Is this something I should worry about? I cannot test TDS, but I do have some carbon on hand. I also have nothing in my aquarium at the moment besides worms, micro brittle stars, and amphipods which appear to be doing fine as well as sand.

The dust looked like this (in much lower qualities):https://media.istockphoto.com/photo...ar-a-magnet-bar-on-white-picture-id1157615242

It's a magnet. Could be from the sand or rock. Doubt it's from the impeller or wavemaker itself.

I'd probably run some carbon and a polyfilter out of caution.

I have no Poly-filter, but I am running some carbon through an Aquaclear now. The wavemakers have also been removed (I was not using them).
