I am thinking of buying one if these corals but I want to know more about care. How do you keep them colored up? Do nitrates/ phosphates brown them easily like other sps? How aggressive are they?

I do not find them to be very aggressive, but they will encrust as they grow so keep that in mind. Pretty easy to keep colored up, so long as your tank is stable, at least a year old, etc. I actually carry this coral and they sell well. They are pretty hardy and also quite popular.

So they are less sensitive than sps corals like montis?

I have one, it's hardy but it is quick to brown up when the nutrients get high. As soon as they come down it colors right back up. The biggest problem with mine is that my Indigo Dottyback constantly dumps sand on it it and I have to blow it off...

Thanks for the info. I have heard they dont like too much light. How low should it be?

Ok, I should buy a par meter so I can pick a good spot.

While they're nice to have you certainly don't need it. Just start it out low or on the bottom and slowly move it up to where you want it. Just remember that if you go too high it probably won't be as happy as it could be.

Since I am using an led I can always dim it if need be. I only keep lps and softies which dont exactly like lots of light anyways.
