Wasnt sure if this was an LPS or SPS.....

So i have a decent size colony of this and it was doing excellent, then all of a sudden it starts doing crazy things.

First it turns from bright turquoise base to a deep bluish purple, then it starts getting blotchy spots, then it has spots all over that look almost bleached. Then few days later all colored back up to the deep blue but never went back to the turquoise color. Now theres a spot on one corner that looks bleached possible flesh missing.... i will try to take a picture but its in the very back of my tank and its almost 30 inches from front to back

Odd. My meteor shower changed colors from the nice turquoise to a flat purple.

In fact, the orange spots are slowly fading. I hope it doesn't end up like mine.

The orange polyps are still colored up..... im almost wondering if its because of my low PO4

All of my acros are still colored up fine minus a few that were brown from shipping but they are coming in strong.


Is it possible for an emerald crab to be doing this?

if we are talking about a Meteor Shower Cyphastrea than it'an LPS and like most corals it will change colors with lighting and water quality. Here's mine from about a year ago...
