Can you use a multimeter to test for stray voltage in your water? If so do you just stick both tips of the leads in the water or are you going to want to ground one lead and stick the other in the tank?

ground one end them place the other in the water. I use the light as my ground source. I don't just throw the other lead in the water, just the tip. then wipe it off good (don't want to corrode the leads on my fluke)
