Hi all...

I recently purchased some pelleted coral food, now looking for suggestions on how to give it to the corals.

Aside from turning off powerheads, etc, how do you get the food into their mouths?

Thanks!

One way is to put the pellets in some tank water in a cup, then use a large syringe/spot feeder to "squirt" the food onto/into the coral.

I took about 20" of 1" tubing an zip tied it to an old shade rod. The food descends slowly to wherever I want it to go :) I can go from coral to coral just by putting my thumb over the top, which stops the food from falling.

I put the food in a cup with tank water. mix everything up than use a turkey baster it works GREAT!

I was going to make a thread asking this same question!! I just got my bottle of Fauna Marin LPS Pellets and acans were easy but Chalices.. Not so much! I ended up letting it soak in tank water then once it dissolved just used my spot feeder "Julians Thing" and just spot fed them. Seemed to work well.

Depending on how deep your tank is and how long your arms are you can use long forceps to put the pellets on the corals/polyps. Just a thought.

I got mine from aquarium specialty I think. They are usually in the coral propagation/fragging or plant care section. I am sure the other sites have them too.
