Hi all,

I just wanted to clarify whether meth blue is definitely marine safe, the manufacturers state FW only and I note that on wetwebmedia Bob Fenner suggest its use in a FW dip but no mention of using as a longer SW bath.

I know it isn't safe for us with inverts and damages filter bacteria but I'm slightly confused as to whether it is safe in SW at all??

Thanks

Nick

It is safe for marine fish. It is not reef safe so it should be used as a bath, or you can dose a QT with it if necessary.

Don’t use it in anything you care about it will permanently stain some surfaces blue.

How frequently can you bath a fish in meth blue? I'm trying to help my tiny CB flame angel recover from ammonia poisoning. Did a 30 meth blue bath yesterday before transferring to a Qt which I am dosing with triple sulfa. Would it be worth a daily meth blue bath or do you think the stress outweighs the benefits?

Thanks

Nick
