Hi!

One of my clowns has white stringy poop. I'm assuming an internal parasite here?

I was looking at Metroplex. Says to remove chem filtration. Should I turn my skimmer off?

Will my cuc be affected?

Thanks!

Hi there! I wouldn't treat the whole tank with metro, especially for intestinal worms. It's much more effective to feed it to them since that gets the medication directly to the source of the issue. You'll soak 1 scoop of metro and 1 scoop of Focus into a cube of frozen mysis. Let that sit for 30 minutes and feed it once a day, every day for at least 10 days. You may need to go for longer which is fine. You'll continue to treat until symptoms go away.

I tried metro and the fish always spit it out the taste it adds to the food is unappealing to them..

In that case you would add a drop or two of Garlic to the food to help mask the flavor of the meds.

Got it. Thank you! Feeding it directly then I wouldn't need to remove or turn off anything?

Would blood worms work too? I know they basically have no nutrition but my clowns love them.

Or should I just go ahead and get mysis?

I would use the mysis, but if they eat blood worms easily, then you can use that if you have to. You wont turn anything off on the tank, and make sure you have carbon running just in case.
