Hi

I recently bought a Meyers butterfly and its started this odd behaviour where it swims up to my chromis, tilts itself sideways and makes them peck something off its sides..

Is this normal?

I've seen chromis serve as "cleaner" fish sometimes, similar to a Cleaner Wrasse. Most likely eating dead skin tissue or picking worms off.

Should I move the butterfly into a QT ?

Until you have more to go on, I would not.

There needs to be obvious physical symptoms (white dots, black dots, redness, a weird growth, etc.) or at least behavioral symptoms of a disease. The latter could be heavy breathing, scratching, flashing, head twitching, yawning, swimming into the flow of a powerhead, acting reclusive, etc. etc.

I got this fish about 10 days ago because it's such a good looking fish but I found out afterwards they are practically impossible to keep. I must say mine is still alive so he has already exceeded my expectations since I heard they should die within the first 4-5 days because they simply refuse to eat. I have not personally seen him eat either the frozen Mysis shrimp/brine shrimp, not the silverside fish and nor the sea weed either but I'm guessing he must be eating something since he is still alive lol
