Ozone is an interesting UV alternative and worth experimenting with if it’s a fit based on needs.
For removing discoloration and organics, DIY reef snow and bacteria are solid as well.

Well the reef is humming along after some acro brown jelly a few weeks ago. Everything is happy and taking off.
I have more time opening up here and will be sharing more detailed updates in the coming weeks.

Thank you! I’ve waited to share pictures of the acros in this system until they were worthy of some closeups.
But here is one from the center of this last picture.

A very underrated coral IMO, Sanjay’s Red Photon

The system has been chugging along, and I’ve been doing some gardening.

Some acro colonies have been moved for planting and replanting of higher end acros throughout the tank. The rock scape has evolved as well during this time to provide more space to each acro strain as they grow out.
Here’s an update of one side of the scape:

I was able to see this setup in person and let me tell you, the pics do not do this tank justice (although stellar pics). This setup is incredible and mfollen is in the meticulous club with both his reef husbandry and coral selection.

Came home with some goodies from this tank and hope I can be a quarter as good of a reefer!
