Mg Chloride Solution

Using SafeStep Mg chloride ice melter with Epsom salt. It's kind of yellowish/light green tea kinda color. Is this okay? It's supposed to be 100% MgCl, but I thought it would mix clear like the baked baking soda and my SafeStep CaCl. SafeStep is a driveway ice melter. Never had any issues with the CaCl mix but I'm wondering about the MgCl mix because it looks like light green tea?

Also kinda milky and not translucent. My first time mixing MgCl. I'm using Instant Ocean.

I realize the irony that I used an ice tea jug. Maybe I'll make a second batch in an empty vinegar jug.

It is not uncommon to get some calcium sulfate precipitate, but that is a white material.

There may be iron or other metals in it.

Thanks Randy. I’ll mix another batch and see if it comes cleaner.
