I like my 250watt radiums the best of all the bulbs I have tried yet, they are on HQI(m80)ballasts. They say they burn a little whiter on HQI(they are a HQI rated bulb).
I believe the 400watt Radiums are not a HQI rated bulb so they are recommended to be run on electronic. A very popular choice is the 400watt Radium on the Galaxy electronic, a lot of reefers love this combo.

hey em.
the 400 watt is designed to be run on a pulse start magnetic ballast. perferably on 240V. that is how i have ran ours for the last 8+ years and we love them. they will fire great on the galaxy ballast but the color is completely different and so are the numbers and life of the bulb.
PS: you should show your tank off over here if youhave not already. i'm sure the ones who have not seen it would love to.

Thanks for the heads up on the 400watt Radium. If I ever run the 400watters I will try that combo.
Yeah I will have to try and get some updated pics going over here. My shades of fall and pink lemonade are loving the radiums much better color on the new growth but there is still a lot of the old growth that has stayed the same

what do you guys think of the 14k phoinex bulbs i was thinkin of goin with them
i run a 150 on my nano and do like it quite a bit. it is more blue then most 14K bulbs but still a VERy nice color. also has great numbers
