I have a 48Lx24wx12h tank with a 48in light fixture with two 150w metal halides built in. how high should the fixture be above the water level? Currently have it at 15inches. Look for some help. Thanks

I think it depends on what your planning on keeping, or what your already have in the tank. Let's get some more eyes on this one....

Keep them 30-45 inches up from the sand bed. Now lets see, if it had to be me, you have 150s on a 12 inch tank? I would go around 30 inches up from the bottom of the tank should be perfect. So 15 inches above the tank sounds about right
