MH over plastic center brace.

just like the title. any have a setup like that. any issue over time? i have some concerns with it. i can take it off and rebrace with glass . any thoughts are helpful.

Depends on your tank size and the force on the brace vs. the size of the brace.

Plastic + Heating/Cooling + UV = Brittle Plastic

I would be careful and avoid doing so. On the other hand, I'm sure that there are many who have had no issue.

also depends on how high the light is
i had a 150mh over my 46 and it melted the plastic but the light was ~4" from the brace

125 gl ,72x18x22 perfecto standard tank. coralvue lumen bright mini 250w around 8 to 10" off the brace to the bulb.

I would think you would be just fine with that.
