I Have a fixture with three 150wattHQI MH and 40 96watt PC 50/50 420nm/450nm bulbs.
I currently run the PC bulbs for 12 hours total 11 hours each set of two (front or back) over lapping by an hour. trying to some what simulate sun up and down.
I run the MH for 6 hours in the middle of the 12 hours the PC bulbs run.

Is there any different timing I should us or is this good. This is just the way I do it not sure if it;s exactly right. I thought about only running the PC sets for 10 hours each and still doing 12 hours.

Any Ideas lets hear them. Please

You'll be ok with that.
I ran mine Actinics on 2 hours before halides and 2 hours after they went off, and Ran my Halides for 8 hours.

So far everything looks fine with 7 hours run time on the MH's
I'm going to get some new XM 15K bulbs as I noticed that the middle one has lost some brightness and its probably about time to change them.
I'm also planing on upgrading my outer orbit light fixture to 250 watt bulbs but even with the 250 watt reflectors they seem to have a very hot spot in the middle do to there size. any suggestions as to the type of reflectors I should use if I made my own setup with 250watt bulbs.

do you run these reflectors? They seem nice. I have a 30'' tank wondering how high over the tank with 250wtt MH over it in those reflectors

No, I don't run them, they are all the hype for Halides, those and the Luminarcs, but I think that those didn't leave any hot spots. You run em typical height over the tank. 8-12"
I run a Bat Wing with my 250w halide, about 8" off the water.
