I am in the works of planning a new tank and the gallon display i am shooting for is 50-62g's.

I want to do an MH setup consisting of a 250 retro HQI w/ 14k phoenix or hamilton. The problem i am encountering is that with a 30"x24"x18" tank or a 24"x24"x20" tank is that going to be a problem? Will i get sufficient lighting in the whole tank or do i have to add some T5's for extra coverage, lighting wise?

Thanks Steve :)

I think you will be fine. My new LPS/Zoa frag tank is 24x24x14 and I get complete coverage. The dimensions are great!. I think you will love it.

Really? ....

How far up is the light and what retro or fixture did you pick up? Also what bulb is on the setup?

Sorry bout' all the questions....:)

Thanks Steve

Do you have a pic of the setup?

30"x24"x18
you will get some shading on the sides but if you get a luminarc reflector you wont have that problem---really depends on the reflector

Generally a halide will get you 2sq ft of coverage.

But I agree with above...the reflectors are the key!
