I turned on the skimmer yesterday (week 4 into my tank cycle). Its a 24g all in one setup. As soon as i turn the skimmer on, the tank water is filled with micro air bubbles(so much that the water appears cloudy). Is that a normal behavior?

Could be... do you have anything to diffuse the bubbles before being sent back to tank?

I had the same problem when my tank was new. Until there’s something in the tank to skim, it’ll do that. Probably pretty pointless to run it right now.

I see. I have been ghost feeding and i saw a recommendation to run the skimmer from the point nitrate peaks (stage 3 of cycle). So thought of running it.

The skimmer is in the 2nd tower and it goes through a 3rd tower with 3 media boxes (chemical and bio) before it flows to the last which has the return pump.
Right. But is it open to other compartments where they move through? A sponge in between would diffuse that

Below is the layout if that explains-

Agree with sponges.
I used a mesh sock to diffuse mine. As stated, it will go away in time but my corals hated it when I put it in so I had to do something about it.
