Micro Algae - What to feed?

so im going to begin harvesting micro algae to feed rotifers and was wondering if i really needed to buy "micro algae food" or wondering if i could just use some gunk out of my skimmer mixed with tank water?

phytoplankton, for sure. Do not use skimmers to feed rotifers. Reed Mariculture has great stuff or I also use Brine Shrimp Direct.

yeah sorry if my question wasnt clear. im going to feed rotifers phytoplankton. but i wanted to know what to feed the phytoplankton.
