Micro bubble help.

My protein skimmer just started producing mass amounts of micro bubbles. Any ideas why?

Check the impeller on your pump. It might have sucked something into it.

Negative. I noticed that the entire skimmer is micro bubbly as opposed to the normal half and half I am use to seeing.

Hi there have you added anything to the water recently also you could strip down the skimmer clean it thoroughly if you haven't already done this just giving you a few possibilities good luck

We added a large chunk of live rock and used some putty to build our aquascape.

Bingo!! It's the putty and will stop eventually. Mine does the same thing when I use EPO-Putty No worries.

The same.thing.will happen if you restrict the ammount of air going in the skimmer

Excellent! Thanks. I figured I would mention thus as well it seems the small gauge is spitting bubbles. Any ideas I don't really use it i was thinking about just putting it up.

It seems the overflow has stopped spitting micro bubbles.
