Hello all. I have just set up a 120 gallon 4' x 2' x 2' with a 40 gallon breeder sump. I bought the set up used. I am using a Vectra S1 return pump running on full blast. I have soft tubing return lines. I'd like to plumb with PVC one day. My question is how to handle micro bubbles. There are 2 baffles in the sump, 2 heaters, and a protein skimmer. The drain lines are bubbling bad. I have two overflows in the back and I believe they are Durso style. Thank you all.

Can you post some pictures of your tank and sump? Depending on the skimmer placement, the micro bubbles could be coming from there as well.

Try turning the skimmer off and see if there are still micro bubbles being pumped into your display.

Also, in my opinion, the two weirs just before the return pump are spaced way too far apart..... but we can deal with this later. See if the issue is resolved with the skimmer off.

I tried turning the skimmer off. I still have the bubbles. I bought the sump used. I’m willing to switch it out. Do you have one you’d recommend?

You can try and add a baffle section where the water goes into the sump area that forced the water up and over the weir. It would cause the air to pop at the surface.
