Micro Bubbles with Filter Floss (PolyFill/Pinky Filter)?

Anyone else having issues with their skimmer when using filter floss? I started using Poly Fill in My Media Cups and then I use a Pinky Filter over the top of the cup, I know its prob more than I need. Ever since I started doing this my skimmer has become unusable due to the overslowing and millions of micro bubbles it lets out. Not sure what I can do at this point, I like the idea of not using socks.

I use similar mechanical filtration and have not had an issue with my skimmer. Is it possible that you need to raise the skimmer?

Interesting. Do you rinse the new piece first?

Dont even get me started on this skimmer, its a tempermental beast that will be replaced once skimmers get back in stock. Its been over a day since I changed the floss out and I cant even turn on the skimmer. I had it at 8" and 4" and still overflowing.

I ended up just turning the skimmer off, my Foxface does not like the bubbles, his yellow fades and then he goes into camo mode.

The Reef Diaper is another option. The filter elements do not require pre-rinsing and will not cause your skimmer to overflow. The flange assembly gets reused and the filter element is disposable. Let me know if you have any questions.

I use Pinky floss in a cup instead of sock. I don’t rinse it. No problems.

I can’t use pinky or poly film from Walmart. Makes my filter go nuts until I take it out and clean it.

First off, thank you for using our product! We greatly appreciate that.
In regards to your comment about overflowing, I suspect that the floss needs to be fully saturated with water. Then it will no longer over flow.

Thanks. Love the floss. They are fully submerged where I place them but still overflow the Skimmer. That's not uncommon though with most flosses I've used.

I’ve also used poly fill from JoAnns it doesn’t cause bubbles or overflowing skimmer either. Skimmer is a Royal Exclusive

Is the skimmer new still? I know it can take time for the initial film to build up, you could try running the skimmer and just opening the drain so it can dump the foam right back in the tank until it breaks in
