when will my micro bibles go away? I have had the tank setup for about a month and a half. I’m ready for the crystal clear water like I’m seeing a lot tanks on here. I’m just having a lot of micro bubbles.

If you have alot of micro bubbles there is something causing it. Skimmer, return pump not fully submerged, falling water right by the return. Any pictures of your setup so we can determine where the source of the microbubbles is?

I’m having the same issue in my tank, biocube 29 little micro-bubbles everywhere! The return pump is completely submerged not even close to a water line and no waterfall near the return either

I will see if I can a pic later. I have a biocube 32 with my return completely submerged and no skimmer.

I’m in the same boat with biocube 32. The only thing I could think is that my return is angled up but is under water so it just makes waves on the surface.

Are these biocube units AIO? If so, it could be the way the AIO "sump" is laid out.

Yes they are AIO the only thing is I have seen several of the same tanks without the bubbles.

I would recommend reaching out to some users who have the same tank and ask what their break in was like. You could have something faulty in the sump area. Micro bubbles are air getting into the return pump, so it could be a bad pump. If you don't have something like a baffle in place before the return pump, you'll have the potential to add even more bubbles.

I’ve had this tank for about 5 years set up as freshwater, just recently changed it to salt. I never had any micro bubble problems with the freshwater but as soon as I set this up with saltwater it started, I’ve had it running for about a month...so a old pump could be my problem, all I have running is a media basket with some filter floss that’s it! Alsooo I to have the output pointed toward the surface of the water so maybe that’s the problem?

From what I understand you want movement on top of the water which is the reason I have mine set up the way I do.

Same here, I’ll point mine straight out and see how my bubbles do and I’ll let you know

Any way to raise the water level in the return section?

I'm not familiar with You sump. Two reasons likely are regular size bubbles are getting into the intake on the pump ( bubbles coming from another section )or it could be sucking a "little" air from the surface. Once they hit the impeller in the pump they are whipped into tiny micro bubbles. Doesn't take much air at all to turn into a micro frenzy ! Fresh water doesn't do this as bad as salt water. Consider ,trying raising the water level & see what happens. Maybe ?

Okay I will give it a shot. It can’t hurt the issue lol.

I have a jbj 45 and have micro bubbles as well, small spurts will shoot out returns every now and then, it’s very annoying I use a tunze controllable pump and have it y’d off for both returns. mind you this tank is mature it’s been running alittle over year
