I bought some Zoanthiads today that are tiny. Anybody ever seen any zoas that are really tiny? I know a pic would help and I will get one up ASAP. They have really kewl individual colored heads that are reds, browns, greens, and yellowish in color.

my lfs has some super tiny zoas also like the size of the a in the @ symbol

Thats about the size of these guys. Actually pretty kewl lookin.

I won mine on E-Bay and the PIC made them look big.
When I picked them up I was shocked.

I learned the hard way that some coral sellers are very good at Photo Shop.

They are spread out but you can see the differnt colors.

I have a frag of Vols Orange, they are tiniest **** things I have ever seen. Super bright orange though!

Your tank conditions can also really make a difference in their size.

That's certainly true for average sized polyps. The one example I always use are Mohawks. I have a colony on my sandbed and one at the top of my rock work. The ones on the sand bed are much smaller, but the colors are vivid. The ones on the rockwork are larger, grow better, but the colors are a bit more dull.

However, the micro zoanthids that the original poster was referring to are tiny at any level in the tank.

I've seen a lot through out the years, but recently we've had some really nice looking ones coming in, but are SUPER tiny probably a couple MM in diameter?

i have kept a couple different morphs of the micro zoas..alot of them when i got mine were coming out of the Solomons..not sure where these that the op posted came from..but i found them to be a little trouble to keep at first and alot of zoas that are out of the Solomons are...they grow in some very dirty water there.. mine setteled in very nice..here is a pic of the two colors morphs i kept

tiniest zoas in my tank is my rastas....sometimes i pick up some tiny zoas and after being in my tank they get a bit bigger like average size...

Happy Samhain were about half the size of a pencil eraser......I don't have them any more but they are on Coralpedia.com......

my rastas are tiny still and when i got my red hornet in. i was OMG i paid that for this little booger? ****. but they fattened up to over double their size so give them some time and they will fatten up.

They are pretty kewl being so small. Not sure I want them to get bigger, being so small give them character. I have noticed they are very different in colors so far which I also think will be nice. Once I get them settled in good I will try and get some nicer pics.

there are some that just stay small..and some that will change with the conditions of the tank..which as we all know can be many factors...the ones i kept stayed small in all the tanks that i have seen them in...when the first came to the store they were like that and the many frags i gave out to others they have all satyed small in those tanks as well
