Good evening everyone

I'm adding microbacter 7 bacteria. I've been dosing for 7 days and I notice a huge drop in Kh, is that normal? Does the nitrification and denitrification process consume too much Kh?

Thanks

Consume 2dKh per day.
My tank has 73 us gallons and has been mounted for 1 month and a half. I have only a Gsp.

Seems unusually high. I'd be inclined to lean towards testing error. You wouldn't perchance be using an API kit?

While the nitrification process can consume some alkalinity, it's certainly not to the degree your seeing.

Testing error? What test kits are you using?

I can’t see how this product could drop the alkalinity that quickly. My first guess is precipitation of calcium carbonate. Is the water cloudy or is there a white film on the equipment surfaces such as the heater or surfaces of the aquarium?

I use the Hanna checker. Yes, I have a smooth white film on glass and pumps. But not to much, not comparing a bacterial boom.

Yup, experienced the exact same as you with a huge drop on KH.
Raising it again slowly by doing 10% water changes per day until it back in range.
