Anyone have success using this to speed the cycle time? About to fire up my tank here tomorrow or the next day debating things. I'll be using live sand <in the bag kind> like most everyone does. I will be using a bunch of base rock and also throwing in some seed rock "live" good looking purple stuff from the lfs. Just getting some opinions on the stuff.

heathd - I love microbacter7, I'm currently out of it at the moment but love to add it at a maintenance dose to my tank. It can help with the cycling speed but I'd still advice you to go slow - I think it's just a great product and I believe in the benefits of added biological diversity.

Ty frl. I'm not trying to hurry but at the same time my purple tang is in a 29g bio cube while I do this tank swap. Feel bad for him so something beneficial to the process is worth a few bucks to me.

I seen that stuff. Also. Have you personally used it? Seems to good to be true.

Yes. I've used it on at least 5 new tanks. You still need to keep an eye on all params for a week or two, but I've never lost a fish using it and they haven't ever shown signs of distress.

Okay. Good to know. Seems like typically the quick cures end up causing pain later. Lol

So you guys wanna give me your tank cycling knowledge. Lighting, skimming, filter sock, fuge light, what do you use for ammonia source. When you add things. I know the slow way but what is your processes?

I got all my livestock from my other tank cramped in a 29 bio cube right now. Wanna get my inverts in the DT tank asap than treat my fish with cupramine before adding them into the DT. Had ich a ich outbreak in my old tank about a month before this new build. So I'm gonna be safe this time. Now that I have a quarantine.

microbacter is a awesome product but for what you are trying to acomplish i would say dr tim one and only and make sure to follow his instructions ie remove filter sock turn off skimmer etc

So now I'm into the part of my cycle that I'm just dealing with nitrates and po 4. Thinking I should grab a bottle of this and see if I can lower them some. Nows the time yes?
