Has anyone used this stuff in an established tank?

The directions say something about not using it with live sand and that its not compatible certain dry bacteria species. What is dry bacteria?

Ive been using microbacter 7 and I have live rock from my previous tank in this setup, so I don't want to destroy my current bacteria strains.

It's a brand new tank that I want a solution for if the ammonia spikes. I'll also be adding more dry rock to the tank soon so I want something to add more bio filter safely

You can add other bac but it will propagate from your other rocks if left as it is. I feel it’s more important to get none bottle bac in there, ie from corals.
