OK I had a small fluval 13.5 that was 5 months old.

Fast forward now

Received the 35.2 AIO Waterbox and its been up and running for just over a week.
It was a quick transfer, set the WB up and ran it for 2 days with a big bottle of Fritz Zyme 9 (NOT 900) and new sand. Dropped in around 15lbs of Caribsea life rock that was in the Fluval for the 5 months, along with all the Bio gems that I had in the fluval that's been 5 months established. I added a huge bag of Bio Gems 2 months before the tank arrived as I new I needed more for the larger tank.

So the coral and fish love the new system and I'm getting what I'm assuming dinos just on the sand bed as of today.
Today was it's first WC and that's when I noticed it on the sand.. Not much but its growing.

The Prime 16HD is in Acclimation mode for the next 20 days so there isn't a lot of light being hammered to the system.

I also tested the water before the WC today and this is what I have

SG- 1.026
Ammonia 0
Nitrite didn't test
Nitrate 6.9
Phosphate .037
pH 8.02
dKh 9.9

I ordered a bottle of Microbacter 7 and I'm struggling to understand on how much to dose. The bottle says established systems and new systems so where does my Tank lay?

I really don't want to screw things up so what amount should I dose and for how long?

Any help would be great!

You really cant screw it up too much dosing either amount but FWIW, microbater works best when you soak some media in it overnight then add the media it to the aquarium vs dumping it in.

Thank you, I ended up giving a dose on the lighter side. About 6ml. I see my CUC is finally happy to have something to munch on lol.

So basically if I dose 6ml for the next 14 days that should be ok?

While it’s not dose-related, I had a question about which product to use (7 vs Clean) and emailed their customer support. The CEO emailed me back the next day and gave me a very helpful explanation of which to use when. He also gave me his cell and said I could call if I had any further questions or issues. Fantastic customer support :)

So if you still have questions, reach out to them. They’re very helpful!

Here’s what he had to say about which product to use in case you’re curious…

“Either will work, although it would help to know how long it has been since you completed the cycle and what bottled bacteria, if any, was used to accomplish the cycle.

Our favorite for brand new tanks (cycled) is Microbacter Clean because it helps with the “ugly stage,” that is it is going to lessen the severity and length of time that unwanted slimes and turfs grow during the extended cycle, which is up to about 6 months on most reefs. Nothing can totally prevent the ugly stage. MB7 would also work for this, but its forte is primarily after the ugly stage is over. It is best at combating slimes and removing leftover foods and other organic materials, both dissolved and particulate, that can be present due to overfeeding or overpopulation and just normal running of the aquarium.”

That was some great info and thank you for that :)
