Micro bubbles by the zillions! My 90 gallon mixed reef has the following: Skimmer, BRS charcoal reactor, UV sterilizer light. Yesterday I drained the sump, cleaned it completely, cleaned skimmer and much to my surprise, micro bubbles of biblical proportions still! I can take a flashlight and look down at the skimmer base and see the bubbles coming from it. I am using the Simplicity 240DC model skimmer. Should I remove it, disassemble and check all connections?

How long has the skimmer been running? If this is an established skimmer that was not making microbubbles before, it is probably worth it to first check how the skimmer is set up (even very minor adjustments to the air and water flow in a skimmer can have a big impact on microbubbles. If tweaking these doesn't help, it's worth checking connections, etc. When you say that the bubbles are coming from the skimmer base, can you see exactly where? Are we talking "out of the skimmer outflow at the base" or "my acrylic welds have failed and now bubbles are coming out?"
