Hello all, have loads of LPS in the tank with noticeable growth all except for my micromussa which has been in the tank the longest. Are they slow growers? Do they grow new polyps from the skeleton or do the polyps split on these? One looks like its developing two mouths so I didnt know what to look for.

I get half decent growth. My 4 polyp is now at least 20 after almost a year. They are always hungry with their tentacles put though I hardly get to see their colors. Just a ball of brown tentacles! Yes they have their own skeleton that the mouths/polyps can retract into. Just like a regular lord acan but mini imo.

I feed mine maybe once a month and it grow from 4 heads to over 20 on a year. I will say they like really low par and not a lot of flow. Mine does best in like 50-76 par. Fat puffed up. Just my 2 cents

Here’s how they grow in the pictures they just kind of spread....all are 4 months. Each one has about 6-7 new heads growing

May wanna feed a little more, they are a coral who absolutely loves food. I feed each head a pellet or piece of LRS every other or Every third Day

That looks to be a Favia of some sort, not a Micromussa. From what I've heard, Favias grow faster than Micros but I've never owned them so do't take it from me. We'll have to see if anyone else can chime in.

literally a month later and 4 new heads have emerged. Had explosive growth. I think the problem was my tank wasn't mature enough. One day a couple weeks ago everything just started doing better, nitrates stopped rising fast, corals got bigger and the algae is getting easier to maintain.
