Just brought a micromussa frag home from the LFS 2 days ago. My question is how puffy do these polyps get? mine dont seem puffed up at all...im sure partly due to gettting used to my system and settling in, but what should i look for once its been in for awhile...
it seems healthy.. i fed it this afternoon with some plankton mixed with chopped krill and reef fuel, and it ate well...i usually see some tentacle extension around the mouth or feeding tentacles when i add food to the tank, but the tissue body , seems a little flat. so im just looking for some info on appearance and what i should be looking for.

I have 3 different versions of micromussa. 2 puff up just like normal acans, but the third which is the Holy Grail doesn't get as puffy. At least in my tank. I have seen pictures from other people where the HG is puffy. Give it some time.

This is how mine has been looking since I brought it home... tentacle extention but no polyp extention.. it's placed on the bottom here, I've since moved it up a few inches.. in moderate flow, and under 2xkessil A150s.. any thoughts add to why I have no polyp extending..no3 ~10ppm po4~0.25.. salinity and ph are stable..alk 9-10...ca 420-460

That last one looks more like a favia. Hard to tell for sure with the low resolution shot though.

Heres a pic I just took of mine earlier today. Yours looks like one just closed up some. Mines in low light, low/medium flow.

What is low light for you? What fixtures at what setting? Mine is 2-3 inches off bottom of a 75g so about 19-20 inches under surface under 2 kessil a150w & a finnex marine strip. Idk what par is where I place it. But it's not directly under the kessil beam of light.... how low of flow? Like barely moving?

I wish I had par readings but I don’t. I have two kessil a360x’s and four t5 bulbs. Mine is at a far corner of my tank and I believe the rock work probably blocks most of the leds. Just place on the bottom and see how it goes.

Flow- I bet as long as it isn’t getting strong directional flow you would be good. Mine is gentle flow in that corner. Just enough to see the polyps move around slightly every few seconds.

i have no way to measure par either. id think i have mine in equal or less light than you becasue you have the 360's and i got the 150's...how deep is your tank?
