I think it would be more beneficial getting a good microscope than spending money on treatments for nuisance algae. If you do not know what you are dealing with, you are spinning your wheels anyway. What does everyone have and do you have pictures you can post of what you have seen under it? I would guess it would absolutely need a camera attachment or USB connectivity.

Tons of posts about that topic; do a search on microscope and you'll find a ton of info with pictures.

I bought the AmScope M150C to positively Id Dino a few weeks ago. Turn out to be Amphidinium, not sure how I feel about it since they're the hardest to treat. Here are a few pics I was able to capture besides the Dinos and Diatoms. There are so many things in a drop of water it's pretty amazing. Pictures are a bit blurry since I was holding the phone against the eyepiece.

Thanks buddy. I see two on Amazon with similar models, one has a usb cable attached to the top optics? Is that removable?

I got the one without the USB cable. It came with a 10x and 25x eyepiece. That one will allow you to capture the pics to a PC via USB. I would assume it can be removed based on the description "The camera can replace the microscope eyepiece so you can view comfortably on your computer screen"

I went ahead and got the version without it, it was also in stock on Amazon. The one with the piece has to come directly from Amscope.

By the way, the quality of those pictures is impressive.
