Ill try and get my other tanks posted too. . . they look like crap ATM!!!

This is my "main" tank/"big" tank. I have had some growth, some frags, some moves, some deaths, a bunch of new additions.

Started the new year by taking down my 90 gallon marineland and put up a new Aquaforest OceanGuard 435 this past February.

Pics?

Reef2Reef sent me an email to provide an update good or bad. Well here is my update:

I spend $1,000 or so at BRS on stuff to get a used Red Sea tank started nearly 2 years ago. The one component I need to complete my project was not in stock (pandemic issues). BRS gave me multiple estimates and after a year I just kind of gave up. I randomly looked it up a couple of days ago and sure enough they have it how. The "tell me when its back in stock" notification did not happen. Honestly, ive just been thinking of selling all of the crap for a loss. Who knows, we shall see. For now I am $1k in with this project with BRS and another $750 for the tank and just have an empty tank full of boxes of stuff and regret.

Started the year with my 75 gallon that finally turned the corner after a really long battle with dinos.

So what’s the logical thing to do? We are upgrading to a 170!!! We are in the process of setting it up now and moving the 75 inhabitants into their new home and getting that crazy fish in the picture out! Lol. Come check out our build! https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/c...-fish-innovative-ext170.987538/#post-11530146

Lights starting to go out now but 125 gallon reef with 55 gallon sump progressing well. My son and I have a lot of fun with this, you learn and get better. Our corals doing well, went to Reefapalooza few weeks ago and we’re inspired more! We have great fun with it!

Its Mid year and we have seen many members at the beginning of the year acquire new fish, new coral(s) and even a new tank. By now, you have experienced tank maturity and even growth in both fish and coral.

What changes have you seen since that acquisition?

Tell us and post photos! We'd love to see it !

For me, its been fish and coral. I got this tank in Early December and it's matured quickly with noticeable changes literally monthly.

I converted my 70 gallon tank into a partial predator tank!

First start December 2022! Velvet hit February 2023: velvet hit and I had to re start.

With the restart I focused on starting with corals. Now I have a beautiful reef with so many corals (hard to see in the blue). And its a partial predator tank with an edition of a baby marine beta and a baby dwarf lion!

I then started on a 125 when I found one available. It was used on facebook marketplace. (First picture shows the listing how it used to look). Sadly most of the corals and rock were infected with pyramid snails all over. So I saved the corals I could and cried about the ones I lost in the move. But then I started to make it my own reef! Last picture is how it is now, middle ones were me messing with the aquascape. I saw a purple tang in a store and fell in love. So I took over this tank and finally had my dream fish!! Lucked out and found a guy selling his yellow tang and they are buddies now! I cant wait to focus on corals for this tank, but I gotta get better lights first!

Buying 20 pounds of Marco Rock next week!

I’ve been keeping freshwater tanks for years. This will be my first Reef tank. I’m excited!

IMG_5681.jpeg

I have experienced a major aptaisia out break in my 90 display. I put together a a 55 gallon tank, drilled it, it was one of the older thick glassed tanks. See my view aquarium badge, and did a diy 10 gallon sump. I placed the infected rock in the tank... I pulled the coral on the rocks I could and placed them on frag racks. The 90 display has some semi aggressive fish and wrasses that would eat any nudibranch and peppermint shrimp hence the 55 gallon. I tried nudibranch at 100. 00 for 4 when I discovered my emerald crab hitch hiked over and eats My nudibranch. I then purchased a copperband from wwc which died 3 days later. Yes it was the fish not the tank. I went to my local reef store to get peppermint shrimp, I figured 6 for now at 8.99 apiece. I was informed there's a shortage and they don't know when they will get more. It so happens they had Three new copperband butterflies. Talking with the owner, he said he just got them in and didn't know if they were eating, but offered to feed them. When I was standing at the tank, one of the copperband was right at the front of the tank staring at me. When food was offered he was the only one to eat and he went after that food like an Oscar! He was 59.00 so home he went. He is the only fish in the 55 except two designer clowns. As I was acclimating him I dropped some shrimp in the bag with him and he ate as I was adding tank water to his bag. It's been a few weeks and he greets me at the tank swimming back and forth waiting for food. Very pleased and excited to have a good copperband. Even if he doesn't eat the aptaisia I will have a copperband.
