I added a small Midas Blenny to my DT 2 days ago. The fish went through qt- ttm for 2 weeks, treated with prazi, then observed for 10 additional days.
Today, I noticed a single white spot near the base of its tail. It looks a little bit big for ich, but I’m not totally sure. Any thoughts? He has been having a little bit of conflict with my lyretail Anthias, but is still eating and otherwise ok. Could it be something else? It’s been on there for several hours now and I’m starting to get concerned. Thanks.

I would do a 3-5 minute FW dip and see if it falls off. Might be a fluke or external parasite of some sort.

I agree that lympho is the highest probability. It could also just be sand. These guys like to hid in rocks and near the sand under the rocks, so it could just be that. If it's gone before tonight, then it's probably just sand. If it stays around for longer than 5 days (it may even get larger) then it's just lympho.

Thanks for all the responses. As of tonight, it's still there, but I'll just keep an eye on it for the next couple of days. Hoping it's just lympho. In retrospect, I probably should have used an acclimation box. Perhaps the lympho flared up from stress. I didn't expect my lyretail to go after him (I actually thought they associated w/ each other in the wild). But the Midas has chosen a hiding hole and they both seemed more relaxed today, so hopefully they'll work through it.
