So about 15 mins after feeding I walk back into my laundry room where the quarantine tank is and see my midas blenny swimming to the top of the tank and swim with his head out of the water. Is this normal? Attached is a screenshot of of the video.

I checked them earlier today. They appeared to be good. I am not liking them in QT and me not being able to do water changes because I am treating them with cupramine. Brought him and a flame angel home from my lfs into my display. Later I noticed 2 spots on the angel's tail fin. So I got them both out and into qt.My midas does that during feeding time. I would double check your ammonia levels also. Dustin
Yes, just did today. Seemed goodNot sure about a Midas, but at my LFS I see a wrasse doing that all the time. Are you checking for ammonia?
Midas Blennies do crazy things and have their own personalities. Mine has never performed like that putting its head out of the water.
Do you have something breaking the surface tension of the water in order to get oxygen into the water? Sometimes fish will come to the surface to get more oxygen. Probably wouldn't hurt to add a small air stone. I typically do that when I'm quarantining fish.
Yes, I do. I have the hang on back filter and a sponge with air pump. It won't let me upload the video. I have to change the format first.
Well, you have good oxygenation, no ammonia, good appetite ... i'd just observe to see if any other strange behavior occurs in the next couple of days. Maybe you just got a crazy fish, lol.
My Midas Blenny is everyone's favorite fish in this house!Maybe??? I can't wait to get him into my tank so he can be at home and develop a personality there.
