MIDDLE OF UPGRADE DISCOVERED ICK HELP

So im currently in the middle of upgrading tanks my salty fish are currently in a 39 gal going to a 120 gal i have not moved anything yet got the New live sand in today and will start adding water to 120 tommorow but i found ick on my powder blue tang so i must assume the rest have it to .my question is whats the best way to remedy this should i take live rock out put in fresh water for a bit then move live rock to 120, then take my inverts to the new tank and leave just the fish in the 39 and dose that or is there a better route to take?

You had a powder blue tang in a 39 gal?

A 120 really isn’t enough space for this fish, 150-180 minimum. They need 6 feet of swimming space horizontally.

Fish all need to be treated for 30 days therapeutic copper in a hospital tank, and the tank needs to be run fallow. I’d run them both fallow as I assume you’ve cross contaminated at a bare minimum.

Yes was in a 75 but dont have the room for a 75 and a 120 so moved to a 39 while im getting 120 ready hes small right now and will be in a 300 about this time next year hopfully so tank size isnt an issue and its impossible to be cross contaminated as the 120 tank currently is completely empty

If you shared any equipment or even arms between the two — i would assume cross contamination. I’ve done it several times myself, unfortunately.

If you don't want to do the chemical quarantine and "76" day fallow of dt, you can have success by having them in pristine water and feeding them well, and a uv won't hurt, as long as your sure it's just ich.

I second the treatment option. You're at a good point with the 39 gallon to move everything else but the fish over to the new tank and allow it to be fallow while treating the 39 gallon.

That option is better than potentially continually losing fish to ich due to new additions being stressed or fish dying due to high stress events such as a power outage.
